The RVP is made using an all-natural process of fermentation, filtration and enzymatic processing that consumes the fats and carbohydrates in the rice and leaves just the protein behind (plus a little fibre).
The RVP is also more easily digested and better absorbed than soy – and of course animal protein which putrefies in the gut! – and won’t upset the GI tract like whey. Tests by the manufacturers in the USA have shown that after four hours, 86% of the rice protein is digested, compared with only 57% from soy.
What makes this protein so good is the fact that it’s organic at source and made without nutrient-destroying heat or the use of chemicals, additives or preservatives which are so common with other protein products. It’s also silky fine – there’s zero gritty taste – blends easily and has a pleasant natural flavour. And it is good for children too!
Children especially need high-quality plant-based proteins. You can blend our RVP with fruit and (pure) water or rice milk or yoghurt and some honey to make a delicious superfood smoothie.
Suggested Use
Mix 3 level scoops (approx 15g) with 250ml of water or rice milk or fruit juice and stir briskly. Best mixed in a blender or shaker. Makes a delicious smoothie with furit and yoghurt. Can also be added to foods to increase protein content.Ingredients:
Brown rice protein powder.

04/10/2023, By BevI've never been one to use protein powders due to all the additives, chemicals and other .... stuff... companies put into their products. I'm happy to have found a protein powder even my cats eat, if I'm not quick enough to close the container, I have felt full when adding to my food and sometimes have not needed to eat much meat in the day after adding it to my meals. The only down side it there is no scoop in the container so make sure you have a measuring spoon handy to put the required amount in your food.05/09/2023, By BevI have never been one to use protein powders because of all the unnatural stuff put in it to make it "brilliant" and "wonderful" when using this protein powder you don't feel the "high" that the commercial ones give you, you just feel fed.01/03/2021, By ClaireMixes well into smoothies, porridges, and baked goods. Easy to digest too with high protein content.16/09/2019, By CiaraThe highest protein content per serving as far as vegan proteins go. It does a great job of supplementing my protein but it tastes terrible and has a horrible chalky texture. It was just about tolerable in a smoothie but trying to drink it as a basic shake with water or almond milk is revolting. It's like bitter corn flour.
Pea protein definitely has a softer flavour03/06/2018, By SianDelicious! I bought this because it has the most protein for your buck. For my morning smoothie, I blend it with one banana, a spoonful of nut butter, some cinnamon and tumeric, and some water and almond milk to taste. Add berries or ashwagandha powder if you'd like.24/11/2017, By CiscaI love this protein supplement. tastes great with oatmeal and smoothies and keeps me satiated for longer20/05/2017, By EdIt's a great protein supplement. I've been using it for over 5 months now and would recommend it to anyone who gets nauseous from whey's taste. I've been using whey and egg protein powders for 8 years. They never stopped grossing me out. I'm sold on this product. My favourite way of taking this is mixed with yogurt and hot chocolate powder, because I'm sometimes too lazy to make smoothies. For smoothies mix this with toffee frozen yogurt.
22/03/2016, By JamesI think this product is great - maybe it does take a little getting used to but if you what a clean protein powder that is not whey, and doesn have all those added ingredients (like sugar for taste) then this is it!
Simply mixing it with an almond milk makes a great post-gym protein shake! I find its easy to digest and haven had any unpleasant after effects.26/08/2015, By MirielI got this as a sample in my order, so I thought I would give it a try. First up, I didn't have their scoop, so I used 3 teaspoons. So I don't even know if I used a full dosage, so base my review on that fact.
It certainly works. I would have it for breakfast, and the days I had it were days I didn't need to eat as much. I would feel sustained all day through with only a light lunch and dinner necessary. I also didn't feel heavy or bloated or anything. So, yes, it does work in that regard.
Is it worth the punishment? Thats a bit of a heavy word, but when I mixed it in a smoothie (only 3 tspns for a smoothie mix that I split in two - so an even smaller dose), I could just feel the texture of it. It was fine and the taste was overwritten by banana, honey, cinnamon etc. When I had it with water on another occasion, it was awful. I agree with several others. It was like sawdust or grit. It coated your mouth and hit your sense of taste and smell in a not so nice way. Another occasion, I had it with milk, and whilst that was not as bad as having it with water, it was still not pleasant.
If you'r up for making smoothies and stuff every morning, then yes, I think you can manage doctoring it to mask the taste and smell. If you'r like me and have days that are a bit mixed paced and can't make better breakfasts all the time, I might say to give this a miss or to use it only on smoothie days.19/02/2015, By JennaI tried a full scoop in my breakfast smoothie and that was a big mistake! The taste and texture was far too prominent for my liking. Ill have to experiment with less powder and more yogurt to mask the sand-like texture.18/09/2013, By WallisThis protein powder seems to be effective but does have strange flavour. I think it would be better to go for a green protein powder with the added benefits and nutrients of things like spirulina.06/08/2011, By ShelleyJust had my first smoothie with a whole banana, yoghurt and water.........not tasty at all and felt like sawdust. Will have to get more creative :-)16/06/2011, By ShelleyUpdate......banana, rice milk and lots of yoghurt made huge difference. Had energy to spare at a dance class with 11 kiddies. Not to bad for an almost pensioner :-)
