05 Feb 3 Natural Lip Care Steps to Kissable Lips
Dreaming of those long-lasting-forever kisses? It’s time to give your lips some love. That means keeping them soft, healthy and hydrated, using natural lip care products that won’t block up your pores or inhibit your skin’s ability to produce its own natural moisturising agents. With a luxurious lip scrub, conditioner and gloss or matte colour, your smile is sure to be irresistible!
STEP 1: EXFOLIATE
Use a natural lip scrub to buff away dead skin cells, leaving your lips softer, smoother and oh-so-luscious. These yummy scrubs can be made with a few simple ingredients you’ll find in your kitchen. Exfoliate once or twice a week for best results.
VANILLA CUPCAKE LIP SCRUB
- 2tsp organic brown sugar
- 1tsp extra virgin olive oil
- ½ tsp honey or agave nectar
- ¼tsp vanilla paste
GINGERBREAD COOKIE LIP SCRUB
- 50ml organic brown sugar
- 50ml cornflour
- 1tsp real maple syrup
- 1tsp virgin coconut oil, melted
- ½tsp ground ginger
- Pinch of ground cinnamon
PEPPERMINT CANDY LIP SCRUB
- 1Tbsp virgin coconut oil, melted
- 3tsp organic brown sugar
- 1tsp honey
- 5 drops peppermint essential oil
TO USE:
- Mix all your scrub ingredients together in a small bowl.
- Spoon the mixture into a small, clean tin or tub for storage.
- Apply a small amount to clean, slightly moist lips & gently run in a circular motion for 10-20 seconds. Rinse off with warm water.
- Enjoy the feeling of refreshed, nourished & super-soft lips!
STEP 2: CONDITION
Give your newly exfoliated lips some intensive hydration, with a natural lip balm or conditioner. Ordinary lip balms are typically made with mineral oils and petroleum-derived vaseline – yuck! These nasties actually rob your skin of its natural moisture, and are simply not good for you or your environment. Luckily we have a really juicy selection of ultra-moisturising and nourishing lip balms, to give that pout some real TLC.
STEP 3: COLOUR
Add a pop of your favourite colour to that soft and beautiful smile – the perfect finishing touch. And while ordinary lipsticks are loaded with chemicals that dry out and damage your skin, these natural and organic alternatives actively care for your lips.
