Combination Skin
Rose Mask
This mask, based on roses, is perfect for balancing out the oily and dry areas of your skin.
INGREDIENTS:
- Optional: 6 fresh rose petals
- 2 tbsps rosewater
- 1 tbsp natural yogurt, room temperature (not low fat or non-fat)
- 1 tbsp runny honey (to get honey runny, you can warm it in a microwave for a few seconds)
PREPARATION:
- Soak rose petals, then crush them in a bowl.
- Add the rosewater, yogurt and honey.
- Mix well and apply to the skin.
- Leave on for 10 minutes.
- Rinse.
Sensitive Skin
Yogurt and Oatmeal Mask
This mask is great for soothing chapped, sunburned or otherwise irritated skin.
Extra tip: This mask works well for other skin types as well. For oily skin, add a couple drops of lemon or lime juice. For dry skin, mix in a couple tablespoons of honey.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup natural yogurt (we like it just-out-of-the-fridge cold)
- ½ cup oatmeal (any type of basic oatmeal works here)
PREPARATION:
- Mix the ingredients together.
- Apply to the skin for 10-15 minutes.
- Wash off mask with a washcloth steamed in the microwave (careful that it’s not too hot)
Dry Skin
Avocado and Honey Mask
Avocados and honey are particularly moisturising.
INGREDIENTS:
PREPARATION:
- A classic recipe for dry skin. Mash the avocado in a bowl, then stir in honey.
- Apply to skin and leave for 10 minutes.
- Rinse face with a cool washcloth.
Honey and Oatmeal Face Mask
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon honey
- Instant oatmeal enough to make a paste
PREPARATION:
- Mix all the above ingredients together with enough of the instant oatmeal to make a good paste consistency.
- Smooth this blend all over your face and neck.
- Leave on the face for 10-15 minutes and then rinse off with lukewarm water.
- Pat dry with a soft towel.

Oily Skin
Strawberry and Lemon Mask
Strawberry and lemon juice contain natural astringents. This recipe works for two people, so invite a friend, or cut the recipe in half for just you.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 2 egg whites
- 3 tsp honey
- 1 cup strawberries
PREPARATION:
- Mash or blend the above ingredients.
- Smooth over face.
- Let it stay for 10 minutes.
- Apply to face for 15 minutes before rinsing with a cool washcloth or a steaming warm washcloth. Rinse.
Cucumber and Yogurt Mask
Not only is cucumber soothing to your skin, it is purported to reduce wrinkles.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cucumber
- 1 tablespoon plain yogurt
PREPARATION:
- Clean and peel one cucumber.
- Mash or blend both ingredients.
- Blend the mixture until smooth.
- Apply the cucumber yogurt mask to your entire face, avoiding the eye area.
- Leave on for ten to fifteen minutes, then remove mask with lukewarm water.
Apple and Honey Facial Mask
Honey is a natural astringent that will also help to tighten your oily skin.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 apple
- 3 tablespoons organic honey
PREPARATION:
- Add one apple (peeled, seeded, and cut into slices) into a blender or food processor.
- Add three tablespoons of honey.
- Blend the mixture well.
- Apply to face and leave on for ten to fifteen minutes.
- Rinse with warm water.
