If you have dry, lifeless or chemically treated hair this aromatherapy treatment is perfect to condition and put the shine back into your hair. Pour 2 teaspoons of Jojoba oil into a mixing cup and add 1 drop of Geranium, 1 drop of Patchouli and 1 drop of Sandalwood.
Pour one third of the oil into the palm of your hands, and massage it into the scalp. Repeat, massaging the oil through the hair until all the oil has been applied. Gently massage the scalp in small, circular movements for about 5 minutes to really get the circulation going. Cover the hair with a towel and relax for about 20 minutes. Then shampoo, rinse and condition your hair as usual. It is recommended that you repeat this treatment once a week.
Egg shampoo is also great to bring shine to your hair! All you need to do is mix 1 egg, 1 teaspoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1 tablespoon castile soap, 1/2 a cup of water or herbal tea and last but not least 5 drops of essential oils of your choice. Apply, leave on for a few minutes and rinse well!

A warm oil scalp massage two or three times a week will help stimulate and moisturise the scalp. You can use coconut, almond or olive oil – but make sure that they are good quality!
Warm the oil and gently apply it to your hair by massaging your scalp. It is best left on overnight, but will also work if left on for an hour or two. Once you’re done, shampoo and condition as per usual. Best of all, the scalp massage will help you relax and will aid sleep as well!
Beer is one of the oldest ways to bring shine to your hair! Simply use flat beer as your last rinse.
One of the best ways to control dandruff is to apply a mixture of vinegar and water on the scalp. A mixture of 2 teaspoons of vinegar and 6 teaspoons of water will do the trick. Apply it your scalp, leave in for as long as it suits you and rinse. Do this about once a week and you will notice a major difference soon.
Carrier oils are great to moisturise and condition lifeless hair, both with or without the addition of any essential oils. Jojoba, Coconut, Baobab and Macadamia oils can be used alone or blended together to moisturise and condition brittle, dull or dry hair making it softer and more manageable.
