04 Feb Two Irresistible Valentine’s Day Desserts
Calling all hopeless romantics – have we got a treat or two in store for you! These divine, delectable desserts are just perfect for Valentine’s Day or date night. They’re creamy and sweet, but the best part is they’re made with wholesome natural and organic ingredients, free of processed sugars, gelatine, artificial colours and flavours, and any other nasties found in pre-packaged puddings.
Strawberries and chocolate are both Valentine’s Day favourites – these indulgent mousse recipes put them to use in an exciting, easy to make and surprisingly healthy way. You can serve these desserts in shot glasses, sundae glasses, wine glasses or dessert bowls. Enjoy!
Coconut Chocolate Mousse Cups
Ingredients:
- 400ml coconut milk
- ¼cup + 1Tbsp organic cacao powder
- ½tsp pure vanilla extract
- Pinch of agave to taste
Method:
- Leave the coconut milk in the fridge overnight to thicken.
- Transfer the creamy part of the coconut milk to a mixing bowl; leave out the watery part (you can use this for a smoothie or curry later.)
- Whisk in the cacao powder, vanilla & agave (you can use a blender or hand whisk).
- Using an icing bag, pipe the mixture into glasses or bowls.
- Garnish with a sprig of mint or a dusting of cacao.
- Serve & enjoy with your sweetheart!
Strawberry Mousse Shots
Ingredients:
- 400ml coconut milk
- 4 fresh organic strawberries, mashed
- ¼tsp pure vanilla extract
- Pinch of stevia to taste
- Pinch of Himalayan pink salt
Method:
- Leave the coconut milk in the fridge overnight to thicken.
- Transfer the creamy part of the coconut milk to a mixing bowl; leave out the watery part (you can use this in a sauce or smoothie recipe that calls for coconut milk.)
- Blend in the strawberries, vanilla, stevia & salt.
- Using an icing bag, pipe the mixture into glasses or bowls.
- Garnish each dessert with a fresh strawberry.
- Spoil your puddin’ with this delightful dessert-time indulgence!
